Nickelodeon Universe At The American Dream Mall

After spending the morning at Luna Park and Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, I am now at the American Dream Mall this evening to visit Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park. Due to the COVID pandemic, this park has been open less frequently than closed. Even when the park is open, most of the rides have been closed more often than not. We will see how this visit turns out.

The Shredder

At first, the intention was to start the day by riding TMNT Shell Raiser. Unfortunately, the ride was unavailable because its trains were derailed. Instead, I opted to visit the world's longest spinning roller coaster. The experience was quite thrilling along its 2,247 feet of track, reaching a height of 85 feet and a speed of 36mph. I wouldn't consider it very suitable for multiple rides as the spinning lasts for a considerable amount of time.

The Slime Streak

Following that was the Slime Streak, a family rollercoaster that extends throughout the park. Standing at a height of 70ft and covering 1,263 ft of track, this ride offers some decent pops of airtime and is quite intense for a family coaster. Personally, I found this ride more enjoyable than the Shredder.

Sandy's Blasting Bronco

Timmy's Halfpipe was unavailable, so I decided to explore the far end of the park, where I was pleasantly surprised to find Sammy's Blasting Bronco operational. This unique launched rollercoaster stands at 85ft and reaches a maximum speed of 47mph along its 1607ft track featuring 4 inversions. After the initial run, the ride rotates on a turntable and then propels backward through the entire layout. It was by far the most thrilling experience I had at the park, and I highly recommend it if it's operating. Just be aware that it can be a bit shaky.

Following a round on the operational rollercoasters, I experienced the drop tower with a significantly shortened ride duration compared to its original cycle. I then tried Kraang Prime Pandemonium, a swinging pendulum ride that rotates 360 degrees while spinning. As the park and the mall were closing, this marked the final ride of the day.

In general, the park definitely requires more open rides. The closure of 2 out of the five rollercoasters significantly impacts the lineup, particularly with Shellraiser, their main attraction, being closed. If you are in Manhattan and decide to visit the American Dream Mall, it is a good park to visit, especially if you are looking to enjoy rollercoasters during the winter.

As always, pictures are below. Keep on Coast'n'

Entering Nickelodeon Universe, The Shell Raiser is Closed, So No Green track Today. However Purple is in!

I'm sorry, but your just a bit to Loud....

Its insane how much of Shell Raiser and The Shredder interact with each other

For a park that looks like a giant amazon warehouse, the Boots Banana Swing is pretty darn detailed.

Seeing Reptar as the kids' Carousel is something I never imagined would happen. Knowledge is power.

The Slime Streak just ran through a static wish cloud, I hope it was a good wish.

Sandy's Blasting Bronco can be compared to the classic Skyline Attraction Figure Eight rollercoasters, but with the added thrill of a fighter jet launch. Additionally, there is a Guppy Bubbler present, although its purpose remains a mystery to me.

Olmac Guards the Legend of the Forbidden Rope Fortress. I think the guy above is on the Orange Iguanas, Or is that a yellow shirt...

While not open, Ren and Stimpy is quite the Nostalgia Trip.

This ride was pretty fun and intense. Except I have no idea where this guy is from. Anyone else know?

And with that... Aang and his water buffalo will now fly us out of the park.

Thanks for reading
