Planet Coaster 2 Confirmed

The time has arrived, and Frontier Games has made the official announcement for Planet Coaster 2!

Based on the trailer released earlier today, it appears that the game will include numerous enhancements compared to its predecessor. Notably, players can look forward to the introduction of water park features and pools, along with increased options for customizing color schemes on attractions like roller coasters and flat rides.

Although I see the potential for the game to be a great sequel, I believe that the water park features could have been included as downloadable content for the original Planet Coaster instead of requiring the purchase of an entirely new game and potentially more DLC. Additionally, I hope they will allow the waterslides to have fewer segmented parts than what was demonstrated in their alpha footage in the trailer.

New roller coaster types, including the B&M surf coaster, are being introduced to the game. I feel that all the ride types from the previous game are retained alongside the new additions to offer a wider selection. The same applies to the flat rides.

Having tested the original alpha of the first Planet Coaster despite a couple constructive comments, I am very excited for when this releases in Fall 2024 and will use the as the antidote for the off season when all the original amusement parks are closed.
