The day has arrived, and the sequel, Planet Coaster 2, has been released. It's been roughly 8 years since the previous games came out, and with the inclusion of waterpark essentials, it should be an improvement, right?
However, Frontier has had a shaky track record with some of their recent game releases being "unfinished" at launch. Unfortunately, this is also true for Planet Coaster 2.
Pros:
At first glance, the graphics appear more polished, and the tool for smoothing your rollercoaster is significantly more adaptive. Additionally, I commend the initial selection of water slides available for construction. However, this initial review will highlight more Pros than Cons.
Cons:
This is where the game starts to decline. It's clearly unfinished, with numerous bugs that can easily crash your play session. The initial lighting makes it very difficult to see where you're going, and the attractions' build menu is not user-friendly. Additionally, the game introduces utility buildings without providing any explanation on how to effectively make them work..
In general, the game is at a D+ level at most. I hope it will improve without requiring users to pay for bug fixes.
Stay tuned for more updates!
